What started as a search for vintage nautical artwork in a Cape Town thrift shop became an unexpected journey into family history. The Union-Castle postcards I bought for Deux Poissons turned out to feature the very ships that both my parents and Patrick’s father travelled on between Britain and South Africa. Years later, the connection deepened when I discovered an old childhood pack of playing cards featuring the same ships. Sometimes the most meaningful stories are the ones that find their way back to us.
